Restoration Ministries Music Program Update

Your response to the need of instruments with both funds and donated instruments has had an immediate effect on the orchestra. The donated instruments were delivered last month by Steve Durand and a group from Oak Hills Church, who took them down during a recent mission trip to Restoration Ministries. The program has grown from 65 students to now 85! Along with those 85, there are 350 students in Bible studies weekly. The Lord is truly using this ministry to reach students from the favelas.

The orchestra will be having concerts for the community in the near future. It is amazing how students are teaching other students in the many instrument classes! The orchestra still has more students waiting to join and, with the help of other churches supporting the ministry, this should happen soon. Included in this update are a few pictures of the orchestra presentation in a recent concert.

With such a large orchestra, the string section is being drowned out by the large brass section. Therefore Adriana, the director, would like 5 string microphones to help bring out the string section better. We are looking at the “BAND2” acoustic pickup, as they may be more suitable for children and less likely to be damaged. We are looking for those who would like to donate to this need. The total cost of the five microphones is $1200. Donations can be made to Bridges Community Church with a note for the Restoration Music Program.
