The 12th Man

This year when the Seattle Seahawks football team won the Super Bowl, coaches and players thanked the 12th man - their loud and proud fans. The Seahawks said they couldn’t have done it without their support.

Some say the 12th man terminology was born in 1922 when Texas A&M played Centre College in the Dixie Football Classic. That may be true. But this Sunday we’ll go back even farther to the time of Moses, when the entire nation of Israel was given child raising responsibilities.

When it comes to raising a family, God never intended for us to do it on our own. We’ll have a much easier time of it, and a much better chance of success, if we get the 12th man involved.
